AQ:
With a different color scheme like a goose or something....who knows? AR34: What kinda boat are you thinking of? That info might make it easier to steer you in the right direction. |

I did a double take on that photo since you are from Michigan.
However, I can ID enough in that photo to say it was taken in Florida. |

Could be AQ, I have never seen mud humpers in Michigan have a roll of paper towels with them and discard the empty roll right where they launch.
Might just be a Florida thing... |

There are so many clues including the types of aquatic vegetation, the coot decoys which are more commonly used in that area because ducks know that the coots find the best feeding areas, so they drop right in, the Florida mottled ducks which have some very subtle yet distinctive differences from their Texas and Louisiana cousins, the fulvous whistling ducks, the ring-necked and shovelers in the same spot, and the blue-winged teal drake in prime breeding plumage that occurs late in the season and most likely was on its way back from the South America wintering grounds. Even a couple more things... Many of those clues by themselves could be dismissed, but when it's all put together, there is just too much overwhelming evidence there. Florida for sure. The paper towel roll, however, could well be a "Northern" thing... ![]() ![]() |

I think the builder is from flordia, I am attempting to build one of thes now.... just have a question on Which type of resin to use, I dont want to go for the 100-200/gal for my first build, I am looking for a brand and item# if you will. There are many different ones out there.... I have been reading about this and the only specific's people give is NOT to by from Lowes-Depo....

Well, I have dined on a more than a few birds that never made it to Florida to drop in with the coots because they dropped in with the coots right here in Michigan. My Herters coot dekes are pretty close to 40 years old and happen to be the first that Tom at Toledo Decoy ever burlapped. But...all that other stuff is over my head....I have been to Florida twice and don't care if I ever go back again. And sadly, I have no good boat building info to add to this thread. |
